Paul Scott, aide to media tycoon Sir Robert Talbot, is in love with his boss's daughter, Alex, heir to her father's billions. Disapproving, Sir Robert exiles Paul to run an offshore media centre based in the tax haven of St Pierre in the British Channel Islands.
