The Last Incarnation of Mairi Fable

The picturesque streets of Wormwood have been blessed and cursed by fae since its beginning. Sequestered by a bewitched wilderness, the locals know fully well to leave The Wyldewood and Eversound alone. Except, Mairi Fable has been drawn to the abandoned homes left to decay in the forest for as long as she could remember. As she's equally entranced by the waters that surround her birthplace, Mairi's neighbors regard her as a corrupted soul, or a potentially possessed witch.

When a relative leaves her ownership of a local museum and a small cottage closer to The Wyldewood than she could have ever hoped for, her wish to leave the rumors behind seems to have been answered. But as Mairi becomes better aquainted with a mansion that shifts in response to her presence, she's besieged with visions that take a heavy toll on her heart. Reliving the memories of star-crossed lovers long since dead, Mairi realizes there's more to her family's history than meets the eye.

Lifelong questions haunt her as she works alongside Castor, the museum's curator, who appears to be hiding heartaches of his own. A disembodied voice blurs the line between past and present, creatures from folklore transform into real life problems intent on Mairi's demise, and her dreams hold suspicions too dangerous to speak aloud.

Both Mairi and Castor have reason to believe that something terrible is on the horizon, and as they spend each day searching for a way to survive, the walls between them fade away.

Wormwood's history is full of secrets, and the death and reckoning of a single couple may be to blame. Can Mairi and Castor defeat a curse of their own making?
