She was cast away at birth because in the custom of the tribe that she was born into, she was believed to be a dark spirit's child. She was adopted by Christian parents who raised her with unconditional love. But there were shadows that followed her. So often, it was not physical harm that pierced her soul the most. Throughout her growing up she took her share of the good and the bad, the cruel and the kind, the pleasant and the ugly. She embraced life as it opened its doors and navigated through it with the cloud of being an outcast always hovering over her shoulder. She was the last of rescued twin-born infants deemed by a mountain tribe's customary tradition to be buried alive before the tradition was stopped. Years passed by and she drifted on. And one day she discovered a sense of a new self. It was the day when she let go of a bitter heart and embraced all that had been. This is her story.
