The Life and Times of Francis J. Dixon

Frank Dixon was Philadelphia born at the beginning of America's Great Depression in 1929. Little did he or anyone else realize that at the same instant half way across the country in the rugged western mountains his "Familiar" was also born. From selling newspapers on the mean streets of the "City of Brotherly Love" to building an empire on the words of his Mother, "You will get back ten times what you give in life." Frank's life would become one of survival, love won and lost, and success with everything he attempted. Every time he was unsure of a major decision or in danger of failing, something or someone would intervene on his behalf. She reached out and took Frank's hand in hers. Her grip was strong, yet warm and reassuring. She drew him to her side and together they floated over the edge of the cliff. He tried to pull away, but she held him firmly in her grasp. He floated beside her for a few moments looking into the dark, lipid pools of her eyes. She slowly released her grip, and in the time it takes to blink, she was transformed into a large, magnificent, golden bird. She soared in and out of the clouds and circled high above him.
