In the first part of this Minecraft adventure series, Steve & Alex are back from their journey to the Far Lands and Alex is finally reunited with her father, the great and powerful warlock of Warlock's Keep. The warlock is eager to get back to the keep, but when they arrive, they are in for a surprise, as Amator, the warlock's manservant, has made a few startling changes about the place none of which the warlock approves of!
Meanwhile, later that evening, the warlock tells Steve and Alex about Count Griswold, a vampire who lives in an old rundown castle nearby. The castle has a bad history of evil goings-on and Steve and Alex are shocked to learn of a Monster's Ball that is held at the vampire's castle each year, and even worse, they are told that they themselves are expected to attend the monsters ball in two days' time!
