Every nation in the world has its own folklore heritage legends, myths, fairy-tales. In such stories the wisdom of every nation is collected and embodied, although some of the nations have similar tales, especially those who are neighbours. Tales are stories that are supposed to teach the coming generations by depicting various situations and various types of behaviour demonstrated by the heroes. The Mouse Tower is an old German legend. The story follows Hatto II Duke of the Ostro-franks. He was known to be a cruel and violent ruler. He was completely merciless to his subjects, as well as to everyone else. And just when his people were growing mad at him and were ready for a rebellion, Hatto devised a cruel trick to deal with the problem once and for all.
