Edmée Elizabeth Monica Dashwood (1890-1943), more commonly referred to as E. M. Delafield, was a best-selling English author. A prolific writer, she produced 40 books in her lifetime including novels, short stories, and parodies. This volume contains Dashwood's complete "Provincial Lady" series, which were bestsellers in her time and have never been out of print. They include: "Diary of a Provincial Lady", "The Provincial Lady Goes Further", "The Provincial Lady in America", and "The Provincial Lady in Wartime". Largely autobiographical, these charming novels are written as journals chronicling the experiences of an Englishwoman belonging to the upper-middle class in the 1930s. Other notable works by this author include: "What is Love?" (1928), "Challenge to Clarissa" (1931), and "Faster! Faster!" (1936). Read & Co. Classics is proudly republishing these classic novels now in a new edition complete with a specially-commissioned new biography of the author.
