Instead of picturing a utopian city, Anna Bowman Dodd imagines New York as a dystopian city, in which the citizens have lost interest in trying to find anything amusing. Written as letters from a visitor to a socialistic US, this is a critique of an imagined society with OCD for equality [being identical] and efficiency. An interesting treatise on the perceived dangers of socialism.
