Paula's a young college professor teaching what may be one of the most boring subjects imaginable, Roman History. She does date a little, but not too much as it is hard to meet men who are enthralled in the slightest with her profession and somehow that lack of interest got transferred to her as well.
She's always thought Basil, one of her students, was one of the more interesting ones. He didn't fall easily into any of the usual cliques, and she had hope for him. At least that is how it started, but her thoughts had progressed to more personal ones.
And then he had written a curious little paper for one of his assignments. She was intrigued by it and asked him to stay after class for a bit of follow up conversation. Her motivations had been purely professional, but quickly that had changed...
