The year is 1885 and Tommy Wade is only seventeen when he witnesses the brutal deaths of his father and mother. Four men killed them in cold blood. Along the way, God changes Tommys life in a gradual, subtle way, and as a result; Tommy changes the lives of people he comes in contact with.
