The fog hangs thick over the streets of London. Out of work, Sherlock Holmes has sunk deep into his cocaine addiction. Only a criminal investigation can get him back on track.
The solution comes in the form of a young woman. Mary Morstan's father has been missing for ten years, and four years after his disappearance, she began receiving a large, shimmering pearl sent to her by post every year. Now, her unknown benefactor wants to meet her, and she asks Holmes and Watson to accompany her to the meeting.

SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE [1859-1930], was a Scottish physician and author, best known for his stories about the groundbreaking master detective Sherlock Holmes. Doyle wrote a total of 56 short stories and four novels about Sherlock Holmes and his constant companion Dr. Watson.
