The belief that knowledge is an absolute truth is an example of this kind of spiritual ego. A person fails a vital test if their ego believes it owns the ¿absolute truth,¿ especially when this belief results in discord with other people. The truth needs no imagination, defense, promotion, fear, commitment, or belief whatsoever. Those who develop a spiritual ego often feel that the world¿s problems would be solved if others ¿would just believe¿ in their truth. Undoubtedly, the spiritual ego¿s purpose is to help induce consciousness and gradually show a person the meaning of their life. A person will not advance in their spiritual journey until they move through a process that humbles their sense of self.
