'The Story of Pocahontas' is the attempt by the author Charles Dudley Warner to separate fact from fiction, in respect to the well-known story of Pocahontas. Pocahontas was the highly-spirited daughter of the Native American Chief Powhantas. She is famed for having being taken by the English Captain John Smith to London. Warner traces the historical account of these events from various sources including the 1608 book authored by Captain John Smith, among other sources.
