Set in late 19th-century London, THE TIME MACHINE is the story of the Time Traveler, an English inventor whose time machine takes him to the year 802,701 A.D. There he discovers the human race has diverged into two races, the sun-dwelling Eloi and the subterranean Morlocks. In order to escape the future, the Time Traveler must discover the horrifying relationship between the two groups.
Herbert George Wells (1866-1946) was a prolific 19th- and 20th century science fiction writer. Together with French author Jules Verne, Wells has been called "The Father of Science Fiction." Among his more noteworthy books are THE TIME MACHINE, THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU, THE INVISIBLE MAN, THE WAR OF THE WORLDS, and THE FIRST MEN IN THE MOON.
