The Vampire Lords

Darius is not a good man. In fact, Darius is not even a man any more. He was born in the the outskirts of the Dark Lands in the province of Akahai. He lived his entire childhood with his family in the province of Ahakai, ruled by the Vampire Queen Bathory Von Raknar. He grew up under the oppressive Gloom that mutes the sun and plunges the entirety of the Dark Lands into eternal Twilight. His quest for vengeance is started when the Paladins of the Order of Light arrives to purge the border settlements of corruption and he is saved in the nick of time by the Queen herself. Darius is inducted into her Chosen, children that have proved themselves to be of worth. They are trained to become her Death Knights, elite warriors on the threshold of life and death. But being a mere warrior, albeit a powerful one, will not bring Darius the vengeance he craves. He sets his ambition higher, toward Vampirism. But the Red Kiss is bestowed only a select few, and he must prove himself worthy to his Queen. The road to Ascendancy is frought with pain and death. But to Darius, death is only a step on the path to vengeance.
