Thorang La Metamorphosis is an inspirational self-realization story about a 62-year-old man who one day decides he's no longer disabled and resolves to trek across the Thorang La Pass in the Himalayas. The story interweaves two parallel plots; the first chronicles the narrator's self doubt and insecurities that drove him to a sedentary lifestyle that he feels stole his zest for life. The second details revitalizing his independence and drive. As he progresses, this ominous trek transforms his self doubt into a positive energy that changes his outlook on life. Lighthearted at times, the protagonist must be brutally honest with himself and face his fears of his own mortality juxtaposed to the overwhelming physical demands he has imposed on himself in undertaking the trek. He ultimately transforms himself from a man fearing death without actually having lived into the self-empowering person he always wanted to be after realizing that his only barrier was himself.
