Stand-Alone Geographers(SAGE) are those who work in academia, the private sector, government, and non-profit organizations either by themselves or in small groups. Focusing primarily on academic geographers, this book offers a recent survey of academic SAGEs, strategies for positioning geography in a higher education institutions, ideas for how to remain a productive scholar, and recommendations for resources, as well as increasing SAGE visibility in the discipline, and in the Association of American Geographers (AAG).
