Throne of contention is the story of a nation born out of hope--the hope of hitherto independent and antagonistic family estates, or 'dukyars', willingly surrendering fractions of their freedoms and coming together to form a modern state. It is supposed to be a state where no 'dukyar' is more equal than another. However, no sooner has Dukyaria been created than it succumbs to bigotry, narcissism, and greed. Instead of expending its energies on the preservation of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, the dream state soon becomes a throne that all contestants are ready to kill and die to possess.
