Through The Sphere

For the Coma Kids, life on planet Kern is never dull. If they're not busy fighting off the Yarm the plant-eating space creature that threatens to leave their planet barren they're trying to escape aliens who want to make them slaves. But in many ways, Kern is better than Earth, where nobody ever understood their abilities of telekinesis and telepathy.

When Anne, one of the coma kids, disappears, her friends fear the worst. They didn't realize she had walked through the Sphere, returning her to Earth, putting her in grave danger. Not bearing to leave Anne alone, the teens walk through the Sphere and travel back to Earth to find her.

Back on Earth, the teens' superhuman abilities create major problemshearing everyone's thoughts and dreams makes it almost impossible to eat or sleep. And as their skills advance, the more difficult it becomes to relate to others. Take Alex, for example. As the youngest Harvard Law student, the seventeen-year-old struggles to fit in, and his drinking spirals out of control.

Even though the teenagers do some brilliant things like creating a "sensor blanket" that instantly reveals a person's medical[HV1] statistics, they grapple with challenges of living on Earth, from pregnancy complications and romantic breakups, to tragic accidents and terminal diseases.

Unfortunately, the evil forces that caused the group to escape Earth in the first place still surround them, threatening their lives. As the teens are put to the test, they must grapple with success and failure, friendship and love, new life and loss . . . and death.
