TIME OF CONTACT Edition 1.8 expanded and updated in 2020 is inspired by the idea that we must try to save ourselves and our civilisation by urgently replacing most of our existing energy-generation and transportation propulsion systems with new, powerful and clean alternative technologies. Many reports of high-performance, alien aerospace and underwater craft suggest they already have everything we need. However, a fresh approach to try to understand (and copy) how the alien craft are propelled and energised, is required.

In TIME OF CONTACT Edition 1.8 a technology lawyer has applied inductive, probability-based legal logic and scientific methodology (as used by courts of law) to selected reports of alien craft, aliens and their activities. We should collect data during close encounters with alien craft, using smartphones that contain accelerometers, or gyroscopes, and magnetometers. Suitable mobile apps may use the data to characterise the gravity-like artificial or synthetic acceleration force fields that observations of, or encounters with alien aerospace craft suggest are used to propel them and protect their hulls and users. In addition, analyses of natural gravitational waves that we are now able to detect, radiated by mergers of black holes or neutron stars may also help us to understand and copy alien propulsion, and hull and user protection systems.

TIME OF CONTACT Edition 1.8 is also inspired by astronomical and space science discoveries including the discovery of over 4,000 planets around other star systems (exoplanets). It is now known that almost every star has one or more planets, greatly increasing the chances that many reports of alien craft, their users and their activities, are true. We have detected water in the atmospheres of some exoplanets. An exoplanet which might possibly have liquid water and host biological life like us orbits Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our Sun. We have discovered that water is common in our solar system and that there may be oceans within one or more of the moons of Jupiter or Saturn which may contain more liquid water than there is on the Earth.

Many images from the cameras on NASA's Curiosity rover which is exploring the Gale Crater on Mars contain "anomalous" objects or phenomena that do not resemble natural objects or phenomena such as rocks, sand or Martian "dust devils" (small whirlwinds). These anomalies may provide further evidence for the past or present activities of aliens in our solar system.

The appearance and activities, and the possible nature, origin and purpose of the aliens themselves are also discussed in TIME OF CONTACT Edition 1.8. Hyperlinks are provided to primary sources such as original journal articles and historic newspapers that are now available online.

Individual chapters cover: (1) How alien aerospace craft fly, based primarily on the ideas and work of Professor Dr. Hermann Oberth the space pioneer, Lieutenant-Pilote Jean Plantier, and Professor Paul R. Hill of NASA, (2) Alien technology, (3) Alien craft, (4) Aliens, (5) Other worlds (the exoplanets), (6) Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI), and (7) Health, Security and Safety. A Bibliography (8) includes more hyperlinks to written, graphical, video, and audio content that is available online. TIME OF CONTACT Edition 1.8 offers value for money with over 471,000 words and 90 illustrations.
