Tréor de Français is a workbook for beginners. The workbook offers additional practice with vocabulary and grammar with integrated listening activities, as well as a robust pronunciation section. Culture has been integrated into the workbook activities. The culture interactive section reviews the specific cultural material relevant to the themes being studied and provides students with additional French and francophone readings from authentic soirces accompanied by reading strategies and activities.

Learners have found the workbook, Trésor de français, quite useful in their start-up lessons. This overview of the chapters gives insight into the scope and sequence of materials included in the workbook:

Chapitre Un (1): At the end of this chapter you should be able to greet someone in French, give some personal information such as gender, age and nationality, and count from 1 to ten in French.
Chapitre Deux (2): .At the end of this chapter you should be able to:ask for and give names, understand and use the names of the days of the week, identify and use colours.describe shapes (colours), and give personal information such as your home addres.

Chapitre Trois (3): At the end of this chapter you should be able to:understand and use some courtesy expressions, ask someone how he or she is, tell how you are feeling, and count from 11 to 20.

Chapitre Quatre (4): At the end of this chapter you should be able to say the names of different members of the family.

Chapitre Cinq (5): At the end of this chapter you should be able to ask about and name classroom objects, understand and carry out commands, ask for permission to help in classroom tasks, and seek clarification for misunderstandings during classroom activities.

Chapitre Six (6): At the end of this chapter you should be able to label different types of animals and say which is your favourite, identify different parts of the body, and say how you feel.

Chapitre Sept (7): At the end of this chapter you should be able to ask about and describe the weather in different places, express age and birthdays, and ask for and give the date.

Chapitre Huit (8): At the end of this chapter you should be able to describe where you live, describe clothing (colour), and use shopping related expressions.

Chapitre Neuf (9): At the end of this chapter you should be able to ask about and tell time, perform simple mathematical operations, and count from 100 to 1 000 000.

Chapitre Dix (10): At the end of this chapter you should be able to identify food and drink,.learn and use French names for some local food items, and request and give information about likes and preferences.

Chapitre Onze (11): At the end of this chapter you should be able to state some jobs and where people work.

Chapitre Douze (12): At the end of this chapter you should be able to express people's destination and intended activities.

Chapitre Treize (13): At the end of this chapter you should be able to tell where people and things are.

Chapitre Quatorze (14): At the end of this chapter you should be able to say the names of French-speaking territories, and ask and answer questions about where others are from.
