I tried severing the bond but it did not work. The more I put up an inner resistance to feeling the connection, the more I felt pain. Trying to disconnect from a Twin Flame is impossible.

Apart from feeling the connection all the time, I always think of my Twin Flame without consciously putting in any effort. I tried to hide behind meaningless relationships hoping that I would forget him. I was frustrated that I was not prepared to meet him -- Having him in my life meant that I had to change my life situation.

I was not prepared to change. I thought that I was okay with my life before. I was somewhat happy; at least it is what I thought then. I now understand that there is no way out of this Twin Flame situation. I had to submit to the new changes -- nothing was easy at all.

I had to change myself inside out. I had to unlearn the old habits that did not serve me any good so that I could evolve. I had to ACCEPT my Twin Flame and our situation. When I finally Surrendered to our connection, I texted him saying; I accept you.

For me, I went through the different stages of the Dark Night of the Soul and I felt like I was grieving my Soul.

Twin Flame grief is not a mental illness but rather a coping mechanism to the intense emotional chaos and separation anxiety that accompanies the Soul Shock that you experience when you physically separate from your Twin Flame. When you experience the Soul Shock as a Twin Flame, you go through the different phases of coping with the loss of the other part of your Soul who is your Twin Flame.
