From around 1720, the Inventions were originally composed as musical keyboard exercises for Johann Sebastian Bach's students while living in Koethen. Like the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Inventions were first published after his lifetime (in 1801) Duet Sheet Music for Soprano Saxophone accompanied by Double Bass arranged by Lars Christian Lundholm.
