The Church isn't meant to be pretty in any way we understand prettiness. It's beautiful because of its "ugliness," where the riff-raff have access to Jesus, lepers are embraced, and the dead find new life. Ours is to be an ugly church, where everyone is invited into the Lord's workshop to be made whole and complete. Where everyone has access to Jesus, to the One who laid down His life for us all. Where everyone has a place at the table, no matter their background, color of skin, social status, or size of their bank account. Praise God that He's letting in the riff-raff, because He let in someone like me--and you!
