"Best courtroom break ever," he purred against her cheek, his hand gliding down further to cup the curvy cheek of her bottom as he pressed his semi-erect organ back into her warmth.
"Not to mention the best diet ever," she added with a teasing grin. "I think I must've lost at least a hundred pounds since we met, what with all the meals you've made me miss," she stated.
"I didn't hear you complaining ten minutes ago when you were manhandling me," he declared, his lips twitching with a smirk as he drew back to gaze at her from below mockingly arched brows.
"And I didn't hear you complaining about being manhandled ten minutes ago," she countered, her laughter erupting on a snort as she buried her face under his arm in a futile attempt to hide her blush from his view.
"Oh, I wasn't complaining just now either," he assured her with a chuckle. "You, my dear, have my express permission to manhandle me whenever you so desire," he submitted with a grin.
"Really?" she drawled, the soft tinkle of her laughter floating up to him as her tongue slid across the button of his nipple.
"Oh no you don't," he growled, forcing a smile onto his lips to cover his disappointment as he eased off of her and clambered off the bed. "If you get me started again, we won't make it back to court by two," he asserted with a grin.
"But, you just said ..."
"Shower," he instructed. "Now."
Her joyful giggle as she snapped her wrist in a crisp salute was the sweetest of sounds, and he was floating on a cloud of sheer bliss as he followed her into the glass enclosure, standing in front of her to shield her while he adjusted the water's temperature before drawing her into an embrace. The feel of her slender arms around his waist and her full breasts pressed against his chest as she trailed soft kisses across the line of his shoulder caused his heart to flood with an overflow of emotion, and he thanked his lucky stars for the water raining down on them, hiding the tears that leapt into his eyes.
In the short space of time since meeting her, she had opened his eyes and shown him all that had been missing from his life, opened his mind and his heart to a world in which there was so much more than the job which he had previously dedicated his entire existence to.
That was his past. She was his future.
