Notwithstanding, life has brought him a world of setbacks and standstills, causing him to put in extra effort to prove his competence and helping him learn how to go through things rather than around them.

Matthew tackled one of the most rigorous programs in California in order to obtain his teaching credentials. Currently a substitute teacher of NMUSD as he awaits landing a full-time teaching career, he has made an impact on thousands of students, often being called the "best sub."
