After losing her husband at sea, Melissa McCarthy sells up and moves into a new house. That's when the mysterious letters begin arriving. Always on significant personal dates and containing implied threats, Melissa finds them unnerving. The police are not interested. As the next likely date for another letter to arrive approaches, Melissa's concern shifts to her company's bottom line. Somehow, this seems not as flush as expected. With two situations now occupying her mind, she finds herself confronted by a myriad of questions:

Who is sending the letters? Are they meant for her, or is it a case of mistaken identity? While the company is running at full capacity and doing well, why isn't more going into the coffers?

Finding the answers takes Melissa and her friend, Jo Ballard, on a bewildering journey of discovery.
