Mark Lander, having met Gerry Tempest several weeks previously, is fascinated with her belief of being a man reborn in a woman's body. On the other side of town, Mark's best friend, Detective Inspector Jim Sanders is investigating a gruesome murder committed on the night of Valentine's Day. What's worse, in an adjoining suburb a similar slaying is discovered. Both Jim and DI Hazel Chorley team up in a bid to track down a potential serial killer. As the search for the murderer progresses, it seems to Mark that the person the police are looking for is closer than they know!
The problem is, will Mark be able to convince the police of his theory before the killer strikes again?
