Just after he returns from his "holiday" in Los Angeles, Al gets a late night phone call. His daughter has been arrested for the murder of her supervisor. Al hires a rapidly rising criminal lawyer from Toronto on the condition that she accepts Norm - the ex-cop who helped him in LA - as the investigator for the defence team.
