The battle to stop traffickers from taking shifters and selling them was still raging on. No one knew that better than Lysander Nicolaou as he led the weaker members of their group to a hiding spot so he could go back and help his Alpha father fight their attackers and keep the rest of their badger cete safe. But when he returned, his father and older brother were dead and his mom and sister had disappeared. Hiram Reis was good at surveillance. Whether it was with electronic devices or monitoring someone in person, he was usually the one his Council Chief, Saber, sent. So, when they were advised a survivor of another raid, this time on a badger cete, had followed those who had planned the strike at their home base, he was sent to watch them, in hopes they would eventually lead them to those they'd taken, or to the ones who were intent on taking their kind.
