The story details the life of Ollie Mae Boyd (my mother) struggles through her early life, growing up in a dysfunctional family and eventually finding her gifts and purpose, later in her teenage years after being removed from her biological parents home by her oldest sister who cared for her and encouraged Ollie Mae to fulfil her educational goals. Ollie Maes sister was an inspiring educator that instilled moral values in her younger sibling, which the main purpose was to prepare her for a successful career and life. Ollie mae became one of the most beloved students in her senior class and graduated at the top becoming the homecoming queen" class of 1961"Sumter County FL, but circumstances and relationships detoured ollie mae away from her purpose and calling. Depression and episodes of mental breakdowns caused ollie mae to seek revenge on those that she felt contributed to the pain and disappointments in her life. She felt that she was not loved and suicide would be the only way to escape from this horrible life that she was given. Leaving a note behind to family that she would see them on the other side was the last communication written by ollie mae as she took her life on November 27,1985, leaving her family devastated. The Author wants the reader to understand the seriousness of mental health and how important it is to get treatment early.
