Was Jesus a Muslim? Between Christianity and Islam

The title of this book will undoubtedly intrigue many, especially Christians who, in their ignorance of Islam, will wonder what relationship there can be between Christ and Islam. Muslims, for their part, will hardly be surprised by this deliberately provocative title. They know that Jesus occupies a central place in Islam, where he is one of the five great prophets: Noah, Abraham, Moses, Muhammad and Jesus.

They also know that her name appears twenty-five times in the Qur'an, while the name Muhammad appears only four times. They also know that Mary is the only female name mentioned in the Qur'an, where there is no mention of the mother, wives or daughters of the Prophet of Islam.

They read in the Quran these verses that praise Jesus in a much more sublime way than many verses in the Gospels: (The angels said: "Mary! God announces to you the birth of a son born of a Word of His, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and in the Hereafter, and among the nearest of the Lord's chosen ones. He will speak to men from the cradle, he will preach the good word in his old age, and he will be among the righteous believers).[1]

They also know that no one praised Christ and his mother like the Prophet of Islam, who said of Jesus: "The prophets are blood brothers, their mothers are different, but their religion is one. As for me, I am the closest to Jesus son of Mary, for there was no prophet between me and him.[2] And about Mary: "The best of women was Mary. [3]
