Time changes people...and every once in a while it can heal a broken heart.

Abigail Cahill is returning home, and she doesn't know how to feel about it. She left when she graduated from high school, promising herself she would never go back. However, when Abigail's father leaves her the house as an inheritance, she is willing to give living in Three Creeks a second chance.

Zach, Abigail's brother, knows he's the reason why his sister hasn't been home for over twenty years. He knows she wouldn't believe him if he apologized for saying things he now regrets. However, he's willing to show her that he's changed. He knows he'll need some help from the community and their childhood friends.

Mary, the eldest of the Cahill children, has her hands full with two children of her own and a farm. Despite her busy life, she wants her family back together. With the loss of their father, her desire to keep them together has grown stronger. She's the one who has shown Zach how to be supportive by being there for him at a moment's notice. Now she expects him to do the same.

Kent remembers Abigail as the awkward younger sister who wasn't much trouble, and he was as surprised as everyone when she left without a backward glance. He agrees to forge the friendship that will ease her transition to small-town life. He's been burned by love, so he isn't worried about romantic connections.
