This essay sheds light on what is the entitlement mentality, explicates why certain people have the entitlement mentality, demystifies how to overcome the entitlement mentality, and reveals the benefits of overcoming the entitlement mentality. The entitlement mentality is an insalubrious mentality to manifest into reality since it causes someone to harbor "a sense of deservingness" when the person has not done anything on his end to deserve favors from other people. A person who harbors an entitlement mentality expects to be the beneficiary in every interpersonal relationship that he forms with other people. A person who harbors an entitlement mentality expects to never be a mutual benefactor in any interpersonal relationship that he forms with other people. A person who harbors an entitlement mentality expects that people will unconditionally do his bidding. A person who harbors an entitlement mentality is inapt to demonstrate an attitude of gratitude when favors are granted to him by other people. A person who harbors an entitlement mentality is inapt to attract other people to him. A person who harbors an entitlement mentality is inapt to be venerated by other people. A person who harbors an entitlement mentality often prefers to have a high standard of living without working in any capacity to attain it. A person who harbors an entitlement mentality often prefers to have a life that is devoid of stressors. A mature adult does not harbor an entitlement mentality, but rather embraces a mindful mindset. A mature adult who embraces a mindful mindset is acutely aware that harboring an entitlement mentality is not conducive to making inroads towards reaching your overarching goals and higher aspirations since most people are reticent about performing favors for other people when they will not receive anything in return for doing so. A mature adult who embraces a mindful mindset is also acutely aware that harboring an entitlement mentality would be a disservice to him since it would aptly cause him to be perceived by other people as incapable of doing anything and would also aptly cause him to be perceived by other people as being an onerous burden to them. The irony is that even though people are more than capable of working in some capacity to make inroads towards accomplishing their objectives and goals in life, most people however choose to forgo working in any capacity. People should aim to minimize their dependence on other human beings and should not rely on other human beings to unconditionally carry out their bidding since people expect there to be mutual reciprocity in an interpersonal relationship if they are going to perform favors for another person. The entitlement mentality is stigmatized as being one of the utmost worst mentalities to harbor. People often prefer to be around other people who demonstrate an attitud
