Living a love affair that lasted over thirty years, handsome Seth Gallatin suddenly finds himself alone and floundering. After his long term partner Joey suddenly dies Seth is still alive but not really living. Even though his family and friends are supportive, wherever he turns he encounters reminders of Joey and their wonderful time together in Northern California.
After a couple of years, he begins searching the Internet and spots a Spanish style fixer in Palm Springs, California. Taking a chance Seth flies down and buys his diamond in the rough and spends the next several months completing the extensive renovation with Janet Harris, a highly recommended local contractor.
Finally the big day for the move arrives and Janet shows up to help along with her brother Jake, a very attractive widower in his early fifties. The sparks begin to fly and it is apparent after just a few hours with Seth that Jake has fallen hard for him, while Seth can't get the handsome man out of his mind.
As things progress between them, they get to know each other and try to deal with their concerns and the previous lifetimes they bring with them. Now Seth is forced to confront the issues and insecurities of having a relationship with a much younger man that put his future with Jake at risk. Can Jake convince Seth that the difference in their ages and past do not matter, or will Seth's fears keep them apart?
