Athena and Ransom are about to embark on a journey to the North Mountains to find the excelled weapon maker that has the only dagger able to defeat Calgar. On their journey, they not only have the wilderness of Trigone to contend with but matters of the heart as well. As both come to terms that a friendship is all they can have, a new evil appears and sends Athena into hiding on Earth.
Athena's heart is with her people in Trigone and duty to her people is her first propriety. So why can't she shake this feeling he is her other half? No man has ever been as entrancing as Ransom and knowing her life is in danger brings out a protective side of him she didn't know he possessed.
