Investigating the death of a stockbroker, Inspector Ripple is once again assisted by Amos Petrie, an eccentric solicitor who draws on his passion for fishing to produce unexpected deductions in crimes of a more human variety. Originally published in 1932, this is a vintage murder mystery by John Victor Turner, who (as Nicholas Brady) also wrote the Ebenezer Buckle mysteries.
