The planet Zandeldena is a source of Zaan energy crystals. Bazazeth the Enchanter and her followers invade the planet to control its coveted crystal mines. In opposition, a small group of witches discover a new weapon. The Witchstone is the only means to defeat Bazazeth but it is lost during the invasion. Seren Maun's psychokinetic powers are out of control and a danger to others. She has no way to understand or develop her menacing abilities. Seren's powers are unique and she is the only person who can wield the Witchstone. But she must develop an untapped skill to manipulate energy. Seren is whisked to Zandeldena to find the lost weapon. There she joins defense forces and learns about the supernatural Gedmadrians. These beings take sides among Bazazeth and the defenders of Zandeldena. Gish, a rogue Gedmadrian, offers Seren help, but she soon learns trusting him comes with a cost. Seren and Gish navigate a world in chaos. Enemies try to destroy her, and allies test her through life threatening trials. If Seren finds the Witchstone she must control it through her powers. But doing so may prove to be her most lethal obstacle on Zandeldena.
