About the Author: 'For me, success is how I feel about who I am; my place in the world; the contribution I make; and the people in my life. It is about aligning the things I do in my life to the bigger picture of who I am being and becoming.' Pollyanna Lenkic is passionate about bringing the discussion and exploration of what success means to women, how they see themselves through the lens of success and the impact this has on their lives and the lives of others, at home, at work and globally. She has spent the past 15 years studying, researching and exploring women and their relationship to success. She believes strongly that the issue of women and success is a business and global issue, not a women's issue. Understanding how women see and define themselves through the lens of success is an important discovery for both women and men. This discovery helps to understand how to promote success and to maximise potential to the benefit of the individual, the organisation and the world. Pollyanna is interviewed regularly by magazines and regional newspapers as a subject expert on women and success. In 2006, Pollyanna designed, conducted then launched the results of Women, Work & Success; a first of its kind report in Australia about how women perceive success. Pollyanna is the founder of the Women & Success series: a suite of mentoring and leadership programs run within organisations and for entrepreneurial groups. She regularly hosts Gender Balance Forums gathering industry leaders and providing the opportunity for executives (from these organisations) to share experiences and strategies in implementing gender balance in their organisation. In addition to her work in this area, Pollyanna's other passion is helping organisations build sustainable high-performing teams. She writes, as an expert on teams, for SmartCompany, an online magazine that provides business news, advice and information for Australian SMEs. Prior to her work as a coach and mentor, Pollyanna co-founded a specialist IT recruitment consultancy in London in 1990. In November 2000, she sold her 50% shareholding having taken the company from a sole-employee entity to a staff of 18 and a contract workforce of 100+ consultants with an annual turnover in excess of £11m. Pollyanna is committed to community projects and networking groups that help people move forward both personally and professionally. She has mentored in the Marketing Women's mentoring program in Melbourne and was involved in two mentoring projects in London: the Du Paul Trust, a UK-based charity, which works with people who are homeless, and Women in Banking and Finance. For two years she served as an advisor to the board of The 100, a cross generational women's networking group. She served on the leadership team of the ICFV (International Coach Federation Victorian) from 20062009 as Secretary and as Co-President of the ICF Victorian Chapter.
