Years later, after being banished from the imperial city of Gobe, Yuki returns on the emperor's request with the hopes of restoring her family's dojo. But when Yuki's dreams are seemingly dashed after tragedy strikes, she is forced to face the unsettling truth behind her banishment.

On the verge of death, Yuki's life becomes intertwined with the dragon god, Ryu, and together they must fight to save the mortal realm from Izanami, the ruler of the land of the dead. Caught between living as a mortal or a goddess, Yuki must fight to write her own mythology before the gods do it for her.
