Written in Blood

David Killian is an ancient vampire. He lives on the North Shore of Lake Superior, and he holds the power to write the entire fate of the Northland using the arcane virtue of his own blood. He has held this power for centuries, feeding on the blood of the region's residents and at the same time crafting their destinies with quill and paper.

When David writes the ideal lover and companion into life, he summons artist Kristie Slay from Chicago to his hometown of Castle Danger, just outside the larger town of Two Harbors. Kristie is drawn by the town's mystery, and the surprise of a new love springing from her past. But she carries with her a hidden secret that may lead to both their undoing.

As David inserts himself into Kristie's life, he is pursued by an unlikely team of investigators seeking to root out the vampire's evil and rescue the Northland from his grasp. But the vampire proves to be a dangerous and cunning enemy, and it will take more than their efforts to defeat him once and for all.
