And that is how this book was born.
Working from home in early 2020, when South Africa went into lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, with my bed in the background for virtual meetings, the people with whom I work and collaborate got to know Zara. She is a miniature English bull terrier the type of dog that people who know the breed consider adorable, and those who don't understand them sometimes consider hostile.
Having grown up with timid, mainly outdoor dogs, when we adopted Zara, my perspective of dogs was flipped upside down. There is never a dull moment living life 'bull terrier style'. This book shares our journey, from welcoming Zara into our home to learning more about the attributes of bull terriers, about her personality and antics, and just how special they are as a member of your family. There are elements of the story that all dog owners will relate to and will make you laugh.
